The Twins Are 8 Months Old, Now!
Gwendolyn and Lawson turned 8 months old yesterday! I can’t believe it’s been 2 months since their 6 month birthday and 4 months since their Walt Disney World visit. So much has changed. They sit up on their own, make silly noises and hey move around a lot. Lawson crawls so much we really have to keep an eye on him all the time. They have a play yard now and they entertain them selves pretty well in it. I’ve bee teaching them about colors numbers, facial features, touch and sound… it’s all really exciting.
There are some challenges with this stage. Lawson’s teething really puts him in a tizzy. It seems like one or both of them is always crying over the las few days. I know that’s not true. It just feels that way, especially at night when we are trying to unwind. Gwendolyn will cry just to be held and stop instantly as long as she is getting what she wants. I’m not sure how much to indulge her in this, or how much I should just let her cry. Lawson will keep crying once he starts and be inconsolable. I know a lot of it has to do with the teething. between the two of them it is a lot. But they are so much cuter now, than they ever were and I’m so proud of how far they both have come.
Gwendolyn Crawled for the First Time
Gwendolyn has had her share of setbacks. Her feet have really held her back from crawling like her brother, but I do have great news. She finally started to crawl and I have her first crawl on video to share with you!
She has only done it a couple of times, but I’m so excited for her. We are still doing exercises on her feet and putting weight on them to help nudge them in the right direction, so hopefully she won’t need a special apparatus. So far we haven’t revisited the issue with the pediatrician, but we will on the twins’ next appointment. Both twins currently hunt Watson and he is not comfortable with their interest level.
What’s Next?
It’s hard to get my head around the fact that we are two thirds of the way through the twins’ first year. They are growing right before our eyes. It is so weird how it feels like they have always been this way, even though it really tool them 7 or 8 months to really get to this point. Now that they are sitting up and crawling and making efforts to speak. I am really excited to see what comes next and when.

Hold your little girl as much as she wants. They are little for so long. It’s o.k. to spoil her with love
